Jökulsárlón

If there were only one place to visit in Iceland, it would be Jokulsarlon. No word is enough strong to describe the beauty of this exceptional and unforgettable place.

To approximately 350 km of Reykjavík is a single and spectacular site natural not to miss: the lake refrigerator of Jökulsárlón.

Brei-amerkurjökull, ice resulting from Vatnajökull is divided into icebergs of various sizes which are then let carry by the current in direction of the sea.

The color of the ice is astonishing, in white majority it takes sometimes black or blue colours (the nuances of blue come from frozen again melt water).

One can see the icebergs advancing, being turned over or dislocating oneself in a great noise of cracking what gives a surprising spectacle.

With a little patience, and discretion one can also be likely to surprise some seals in the train of relax on the edge of the lagoon or to swim in direction of the sea, in the middle of icebergs.

Excursions in boat are organized to make the turn of the lake and to observe the giants icebergs more closely.
