CHINA - 2008 SUMMER OLYMPICS
 The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing will be held in the Beijing National Stadium, and begin at 8:00pm on 08/08/08. The choice of date and time reflects the fact that the number 8 is considered lucky in China. Some events will be held outside Beijing, namely football (in Qinhuangdao, Shanghai, Shenyang, and Tianjin), sailing (in Qingdao), and equestrian (in Hong Kong, because of uncertainties of equine diseases and major difficulties in establishing a disease-free zone.
