GUADELOUPE - VIEUX HABITANTS
 Vieux Habitants a été fondé en 1636, c’est la plus ancienne commune de Guadeloupe. Elle est située côté Basse Terre à environ 20 Km de la commune de Basse Terre.Le nom vient du fait que les premiers colons de la Compagnie des Isles d’Amérique. Une fois qu’ils étaient libérés de leurs contrats de 3 ans, ils se retiraient à Vieux Habitants où il faisait bon vivre. Vieux Habitants se trouve en périphérie du parc national de la Guadeloupe. |
