The islandof Java stretches from east to west over 1000 km, the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, is located on the northwest coast of Java. Archaeological remains of Java are the most famous temples of Borobudur, Buddhist, and Prambanan, shivaïte. Its ancient cities like Yogyakarta worth a visit as well as its many volcanoes (Mt Bromo, Mt Semeru, etc ...). Please note, transport in Java is not fast and it is not uncommon to do 10 hours bus to a distance of less than 500 km!
